これは指名手配被疑者の肖像に関するパフォーマンスとインスタレーションです。
私は神奈川県警察署前の掲示板で指名手配被疑者の肖像画を3つ描きました。
そしてその隣の建物BankARTstudioNYKで催される展覧会に出品しました。
指名手配者の肖像は、交番前、駅、銭湯など街中のさまざまな場所、あるいはインターネットの中に遍在しています。殺人、強盗、テロ、といった死と恐怖のイメージとしてそれらは我々の脳裏に焼きついています。都市景観の中にそうしたイメージたちを埋没させることは警鐘を鳴らしながらも恐怖に対する感覚を麻痺させています。私達はそうした環境を作ることで不安と安心をどちらも抱えながら生活していると思います。
※この3人の肖像はオウム真理教というカルト教団の関係者のもので、彼らは90年代以降の日本で最も有名な指名手配被疑者達です。

This is a performing art and an installation about the portrait of the wanted fugitive.
I drew three portraits of the wanted fugitive at the bulletin board in front of the Kanagawa police headquarters. Then I exhibited them at an exhibition held in BankART studio NYK which is the neighboring building.
The portraits of wanted fugitives are omnipresent to various places in the town such as stations, public baths and police boxes or in the internet. They have been burnt into our mind as an image of the death and fear such as the murder, the robbery and terrorism. Burying such images in the cityscape has paralyzed the sense of fear though it strikes a note of warning. I think that we live in holding both anxious and safety by making such an environment.
※These portraits of three people are the one of parties concerned of the cult named the Aum Supreme Truth, and after the 90's, they have been the most famous wanted fugitives in Japan.

これらは、印刷物の無断複製のうち、著作権の侵害を問われないものはなにかを考えていたときに思いたった行動です。交番前、駅、銭湯など街中のさまざまな場所、あるいはインターネット上に遍在する指名手配被疑者の肖像は、殺人、テロなどの死と恐怖のイメージを私の脳裏に焼きつけると同時に、景観として埋没することでその感覚を麻痺させています。このことは公共空間が否応なしに含んでしまう暴力性ではないかと考えています。
